It was owned by the U.S Rubber until the Stride Rite Corporation was able to acquire the ownership rights for Keds. Keds tennis shoes or sneakers are the original footwear products of Keds. Keds is the first one to manufacture canvas shoes that they called sneakers due to the rubber soles that the shoes have which do not make any noise.
